Energy Minister, John Hayes, published the Coalition’s UK Draft Energy Bill on 29th November 2012. The Climate Change Bill set out the various measures that will be enforced to ensure the UK’s switch to ‘a low-carbon economy’ although within the bill the practicalities of the energy reduction element were by no means finalised.
To address this, the DECC embarked on a consultation period to allow companies the opportunity suggest effective new measures for the Energy Bill. This was a valuable window of opportunity for businesses and landlords to have their say, and to help mould legislation as it was still being formulated.
During the consultation period, Optimal Monitoring encouraged as many companies as possible to get involved and have their say. This e-Book explains the changes that, if included, we feel would benefit businesses and not just energy suppliers.
